Formal, nonformal and informal learning end education

The article shows the meaning and essence of formal, nonformal and informal educational activities of adults in the context of lifelong education. The guiding thought of the author in the work is that formal, nonformal and informal learning and education are equal forms of adult learning and education, which is complementary to the idea of learning society, that exists as an educational strategy both for present and future. These forms of education should not be viewed isolated, all the more so since it is difficult to separate them in practice. In fact, the elements of two or all three forms mentioned above may be found in many educational activities. This is borne out by the interdependence of formal, nonformal and informal learning and education, as also pointed out by contemporary andragogic literature.
