Abstract

This report describes the evaluation of the effect of a newly proposed crossroads priority sign to warn traffic in a side-street that cross-traffic has priority. From opinion surveys and results of an experiment it appears that the proposed new traffic sign is not suitable for the purpose it was designed for, and that in these circumstances a different system for changing four-way stop streets to two-way stop streets should be sought.
