Abstract
The article presents information supplied by various cities relative to the use of the four way stop. It then analyzes accident records at intersections in an effort to determine the effectiveness of four way stops as an accident reducing measure. Finally, it suggests a definite pattern in the behavior of traffic at an intersection controlled by four way stop signs. The author also includes a discussion of the right of way rule and its application at four way stops.
