Abstract

Based on digital image processing, the relationship between homogeneity and dynamic stability, low-temperature splitting strength, freeze-thaw splitting strength, air void content and shear fatigue performance of asphalt mixture was investigated via the index of asphalt mixture homogeneity. The research results show that a direct and obvious relationship does not exist between homogeneity and the absolute value of the indices of asphalt pavement performance, but exists between homogeneity and the variation of the indices of asphalt pavement performance; the worse asphalt mixture homogeneity is, the more the variation of the indices is; the better asphalt mixture homogeneity is, the less the variation of the indices is.
