Abstract

The article analyses the major problems raised by repair and strengthening of a reinforced concrete bridge by the use of prestressing. After replacing the degraded elements, the system of artificial forces induced aimed at reducing the stresses in concrete and reinforcement caused by dead loads, thus creating availabilities for the bridge to take over some supplementary live loads. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 850834.
