INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY FOR TRUCKS AND BUSES

Abstract

The University of Michigan has initiated an exploratory program of research on Intelligent Vehicle-Highway Systems (IVHS), and is now engaged in the first phase of a multi-year development program to apply IVHS systems to truck and bus transportation. The program is concerned with improving the safety and efficiency of highway travel by enhancing and supporting driver functions with intelligent technological aids.
