Abstract

K. Barnett & Sons Inc. and the New Mexico State Highway Department were the recipients of the 2003 Sheldon G. Hayes Award for work done on a five mile stretch of the I-25. The Hayes award, presented by the National Asphalt Pavement Association, is determined through a two- year process that reviews highway pavement projects using more than 50,000 tons of hot-mix asphalt. K. Barnett & Sons is a prime example of New Mexico's Technical Training and Certification Program, started in an effort to provide quality paving education.
