Abstract
There is renewed interest in the old art of decoupage - assembling and composing paper cutouts for decorating wooden boxes, chests, furniture, ceramics, glass, metal and even luggage. This guide provides some historical examples and classically-inspired interpretations including new items such as desk blotters and folios. A complete section of instructions details methods for producing gifts and heirlooms. Each step of the process, from preparation of paper prints and surfaces, sealing, cutting and glueing, to varnishing, sanding and finishing, is described in detail and clearly illustrated.
