Abstract
Quasi-public competition product, professionalized athlete and jointly operated competition mechanism are basic components of professional sports clubs.Yet the nature of profit making is not a legal characteristic of professional sports clubs.A professional sports club can be either an enterprise oriented by the objective of share-holder interest maximization,or a non-profit organization orientated by the objective of competition foremost. There is no inevitable relation between the objectives of a professional sports club and its choice of organizational type.
