Abstract

This paper shows that based on the physical and psychological needs of the physically disabled, increase in the accessibility of conventional public transport vehicles is possible for the great majority of physically handicapped persons. The paper shows that it is clear that the major problems posed by wheelchair users can only be solved (in the case of the urban bus) by the use of a substantial structure (such as a ramp or hoist). In order to be able to help these individuals with reduced mobility, it is important to look at sustainable development for the future.
