Abstract

The question of who benefits of optimizing the wheel/rail interface has moved from theoretical to practical over the past few years. The article looks at some of the discussions at the Advanced Rail Management's 8th Annual Rail/Wheel Interface Seminar that ranged from the value of technology that has been developed to improve wheel/rail, vehicle/track interaction to the cost as well.
