Abstract
Accessibility is a main factor for elderly and disabled to be able live independently and take part in many activities of life into mainstream society. Therefore provisions for accessibility environment as well as transportation has become one of great disability issues and concerned. As accessibility is a very important thing many international and national mandates mentioned about it call parties to provide this. Provisions for accessibility is a challenge for many countries both developed countries and developing economic countries. It is believed that using advanced technology will help to cope with the problems in mobility and transportation for elderly and disabled. Some evidences showed that advanced technology was very useful to help elderly and disabled to live independently in developing countries. Indonesia is one country which has significant population of elderly and disabled. With regards to mobility and transportation for elderly and disabled people some initiatives have been taken. The initiatives are in many forms such as laws, government, decrees and guidelines to implement it. In this paper the writer will describe the situation of mobility and transportation in Indonesia, in particular for elderly and disabled.
