THE DIVINE PROJECT: A LOGICAL AND INNOVATIVE APPROACH BASED ON TWENTY YEARS OF INTERNATIONAL EXPERTISE

For over 25 years, the thrust of the OECD Road Transport Research Programme (RTR Programme) has been to spur R&D in selected key areas. Due to its effective organisation, experts from the leading research and testing institutes worldwide have been systematically involved in the research fields under review. This co-operation has forged a partnership and the assurance of mutual gains. It made it possible to provide the groundwork for shaping policy options on road infrastructure and road transport issues. At this point in time (January 1995) the DIVINE Project - which is one of the largest Research Project so far conducted by the RTR Programme - involves perhaps over 200 experts in worldwide web representing the various fields concerned. Eighteen countries and several vehicle manufacturers are participating, thus guaranteeing a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach. This Mid-Term Seminar, organised together with Austroads will provide the basis for future directions and recommendations while reviewing the progress made since the inception of this Project.
