Abstract

The widespread development of the technique of retaining walls reinforced with geotextile sheets implies the availability of a simple, rational and low cost technology for the construction of the reinforced layers and slope protection, which is adaptable to different site conditions. The first part of the article compares the different techniques used up to now for the construction and facing of these structures. Part 2 presents a brief analysis of the costs of this type of structure. Article originally published in French in Bulletin de Liaison des Laboratoire Ponts et Chaussees, No. 143, May/Jun 1986, pp 65-77. (TRRL)
