Abstract
Personal rapid transit (PRT) technology provides the capability for airport operators to improve the level of service for passengers within the airport terminal environment and to influence passenger terminal planning in general. This paper addresses conceptual planning issues related to PRT technology in terms of passenger access throughout airport passenger terminal facilities. The PRT technology considered in this study consists of a fully automated system, providing nonstop, point-to-point travel in vehicles that carry up to four people on a dedicated guideway.
