Abstract

The variation of the thermal gradient of cement and asphalt concrete composite pavement is analysed in this paper. The influence of the overlay thickness on thermal gradient is studied. A formula to compute the maximum thermal gradient of composite pavement is presented by means of regression method considering the climate states of different areas. The formula is suitable for different thicknesses of asphalt concrete overlay and cement concrete slabs. The research can be used as a basis for thermal stress study of this kind of composite pavement.
