Abstract

The application of information technology makes it possible that transportation planning professional utilize mass detective data. The paper, according to business process re-engineering theory, analyzes the effect of transportation planning operation process re-engineering on transportation planning operation. The system in the paper is developed based on transportation software-VISUM, and integrates real time data with static planning model. With application of GIS, non-model professional users can input the key parameters of planning models at the client. The results of the model are expressed in template chart and table at the client. The modelers can calibrate the models with the real-time data to improve the precision of the models. Finally, a case is used to demonstrate the effect of the transportation planning model aid design system on simplifying the planning process and increasing the precision of models. For the covering abstract see ITRD E140665.
