Abstract
Model experiments in shallow water were carried out for a 10-00 DWT class river and sea through ship. Effective power, propulsive efficiency, sinkage and trim of this type of ship in shallow water were measured. A number of seakeeping indexes of the ship were calculated by theoretical method. It is found that the propeller blades of an ultra-shallow draft ship travelling in waves emerge out of the water. Some suggestions are made to improve the ship performance.
