Abstract

This paper was developed to formulate and examine two types of station choice models that incorporate generalized time – the binary station choice model and the ternary station choice model. Then, several coefficients which are necessary to calculate the generalized time, coefficients of various times, a transfer and costs, have been estimated by a specially designed survey. These station choice models have been calibrated and tested for commuters going to stations by bus. Moreover, these models have been applied to the demand forecasting of the bus patrons to each station and its validity has also been examined in the paper.
