Abstract
It is important to control long-wave track irregularities on high speed railways like the Shinkansen to ensure good riding quality. For this purpose, 40 m chord track irregularities are a suitable length for track inspection, not only functionally but practically. In this report, a proposal to establish 40 m chord track irregularity standard is made to ensure good riding quality.
