HIGH SPEED RAIL: FINALLY ON A FAST TRACK

Abstract

High speed rail has been a success in Japan and Europe for many years. In the United States, Americans have only been able to read about it. The article discusses the first true high speed service, Amtrak's all-electric Boston-New York-Washington service that is on track and nearing completion. Some of the other high speed rail projects in various stages of development are also briefly mentioned.
