Abstract

As funding levels shrink, program managers must develop strategies to improve quality and performance at lower costs. This paper examines management strategies developed to increase employee efficiency, reduce rework, improve quality, and reduce design costs by a combination of enhanced employee training, revised procedures, greater individual accountability and improved documentation. The relationships between employee training and efficiency and procedure implementations vs. client satisfaction will be examined together with the concepts of quality measurements through process of documentation. It will be shown that an organization's ability to increase profitability and reduce cost relies heavily upon an understanding of the client requirements, and consistent application of procedures coupled with the personal commitment to excellence by individual employees.
