Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the Federal-Aid Highway Program (FAHP) within the context of regional and National Park Service transportation planning and coordination. FAHP funding and the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) are discussed, and the FAHP Decision-making Vectors are outlined and described. The linkage between the performance objectives identified in a state's metropolitan planning organization and projects nominated for FAHP funding under TEA-21 is explained.
