A TOPICAL REPORT ON HIGHWAY TRAFFIC RESEARCH

The article looks at today's world that is the second generation of motor vehicle users and therefore is still trying to adapt itself to a new environment. The traffic behavior pattern is still forming and will continue to do so for some time to come. This article studies past performance and present action and attempts to determine the human adaptation to motor vehicle along desirable lines, and thus save time in handling highway transportation with safety, efficiency and economy. Also discussed are the problems of highway traffic engineering and what is being done about them.
