Abstract
This report outlines the recommended monitoring and evaluation programme for the ROMANSE project, which forms part of the European Commission's DRIVE 2 SCOPE project, being carried out in conjunction with the cities of Cologne and Piraeus. ROMANSE aims to develop an information-rich society within the City of Southampton, in which travellers and operators will have access to timely, credible and accurate information regarding traffic conditions and travel opportunities. This aim is to realised through the installation of various Advanced Transport Telematics (ATT) products within the city, aimed both at vehicle drivers and public transport users. Fifteen such products have been identified, covering public transport passenger information, in-home/office information, in-car information, and technologies aimed at improving the efficiency of both the private and public transport systems through on-street information sources.The programme aims to monitor the impacts of these products on public awareness and behaviour in order to provide a qualitative and quantitative database for evaluation.
