Abstract

The general manager of Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) describes growth of light rail lines and stations and rising ridership. Emphasis on integrating light rail into existing rail freight lines and road networks without interrupting service. Also use of public funds for land purchases and rail extensions in areas not served by other transit. The future promises up to 6 new lines under an intergovernmental agreement among RTD, the state, and the Federal Highway and Federal Transit Administrations.
