Abstract
There are many examples of the use of new technologies for providing better public transport internationally. The paper reviews some of these applications, then demonstrates what processes are involved to achieve the benefits that new technologies can provide. A study of on time running of buses using the Global Positioning System and Geographical Information Systems is also presented. Technology is only a tool, and it is up to the public transport operator to make best use of this tool to achieve a better service and higher efficiencies. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
