Abstract

In this article, the authors contend that an efficient urban transportation policy will require road pricing and governmental commitment. The TRENEN research project is described. In this project, the relative advantages of different policy proposals within a variety of European countries have been measured. A model for urban transportation is described, with focus on the economics of road pricing.
