Abstract
This paper describes a fuzzy control method for traffic signal control in an isolated intersection. The method uses current phase and next phase vehicles waiting in a queue to determine each phase time. The design of the fuzzy control system is described, with focus on the design of the two dimensional fuzzy controller as well as how it takes into account multi-phase and backward time.
