Abstract
This article describes an GPS (Global Positioning System)-based emergency vehicle location system being developed through a public partnership in Colorado. The program, which is among the first of its kind in the U.S., has just passed its first milestone - prototype demonstration of the emergency vehicle location technology - and is proceeding toward full- scale testing and deployment in a test area in and around Denver.
