Abstract
In this letter, a new formulation of the basis propagating selection (BAPS) was presented. The core idea is to reasonably narrow the search range of the basis function when the BAPS uses the greedy algorithm. The method effectively reduces the computational complexity in terms of runtime for determining basis function and retains the advantage of the low hardware complexity of the BAPS algorithm. Through the test results, it can be seen that the computational complexity of the optimized BAPS algorithm is greatly improved, and the performance is similar to the original BAPS algorithm.
