Abstract

The article analyzes the existing methods and devices for reducing the fuel consumption of the internal combustion engine. The design of an additional device installed in the standard internal combustion engine power system, the cavitation principle of operation, is proposed. Comparative results of experimental tests of this device on a bench installation with a diesel internal combustion engine for fuel-economic and environmental properties of the internal combustion engine, as well as changes in the physicochemical properties of diesel fuel of various brands after its treatment by the device are presented. The most effective parameters of the cavitation device for processing diesel fuel and its place of installation in the standard internal combustion engine power system are determined. Keywords: fuel preparation device, cavitation device, reduction of fuel consumption, ways to reduce fuel consumption, fueleconomic properties of internal combustion engines, environmental properties of diesel internal combustion engines, properties of diesel fuel,
