Abstract
In this chapter, the authors explore the application of genetic algorithms (GAs) for key generation in cryptosystems. Cryptography plays a crucial role in securing sensitive information, and the strength of a cryptosystem lies in the robustness of its encryption keys. Traditional methods of generating cryptographic keys face challenges in finding optimal key solutions, especially as computational power increases. Genetic algorithms offer a promising alternative, leveraging evolutionary principles to optimize key generation. This chapter provides an overview of genetic algorithms, their application in cryptography, and various techniques for using GAs in key generation for secure and efficient cryptosystems.
