Abstract
The analysis of scientific works in the field of development in Ukraine of gas-powered internal combustion engines operating on natural gas and biogas has been made. It is possible to simplify the labor intensity of experimental works by using a model gas - a mixture of natural and carbon dioxide gases. Researches were carried out on a gas-electric unit with a rated power of 30 kW. It is summarized the results of the research on the use of model gas in a gas combustion engine that operates for the power unit drive, it is developed recommendations on the addition of biogas to natural gas depending on the power unit load with the purpose to create an algorithm for controlling the supply of gas fuel.
