Abstract
Antenna array signal processing plays a vital role in smart antenna systems to optimize the radiation pattern as per the designed specifications. The signal from each antenna elements in an array is combined in a particular manner so that main beam point towards the desired direction. In order to identify the desired signal direction several direction of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithms are utilized. This paper compares three DOA algorithms namely Bartlett, Capon and MUSIC algorithms which are extensively used in smart antenna systems. Simulation result shows that Capon and MUSIC algorithm have high angular resolution than Bartlett method.
