The Smart Circular Economy

Abstract

This chapter introduces the concept of the smart circular economy. The adoption of digital technologies and modern managerial paradigms allows circular economy systems to be engineered as intelligent and proactive entities that receive information from the eco-system through digital tools and objects and translate it into knowledge to improve the decision-making process. Hence, a smart circular economy enables circular knowledge.
