Abstract

Both UNESCO and EU have their own understandings, priorities, practices and politics related to the safeguarding of cultural heritage and of the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in particular. Nevertheless, recently one could not but mention the notable increase of the number of their co-operative initiative to these ends. The paper discusses some of them that are related to the ICH. Special attention is paid to the co-operative efforts for the promotion of ICH among the widest possible audiences and in particular among children and teenagers.
