Abstract

Strategic human resource management (SHRM) is an approach to human resource management that supports long-term organizational goals and objectives from a strategic perspective. It can also be defined as the integrating of an organization's strategic goals with its human resources to improve performance and efficiency. Why Strategic HR Management? Strategic HRM covers all HR activities that help an organization achieve its goals and objectives. This approach focuses on aligning HR policies, processes, and systems with long-term business goals and outcomes. In strategic HRM, the role of HR is transformative, leader and initiator. The HR initiative is swift, proactive and integrated. This Strategic Human Resource Management book will provide deep knowledge about various key aspects of Strategic HR Management so that readers can design, develop & execute well-defined HR strategies which are in alignment with larger organizational strategies to give a competitive advantage to the HR and the organization. These added skills & competencies will enable the HR department in playing proactive & strategic partner role for helping the organization achieve its ultimate business goals and objectives.
