高等学校の教員は，新しい学習指導要領に対応して，GISの活用を工夫することが求められている．そのため，GISの専門家は，設備や予算に見合ったGISサイト・ソフトの選択や教員の指導，GIS教材の開発などを通じて，教員を支援してきた．本稿では，これらのGISの専門家による支援の事例をレビューした．その結果，GISを用いた地図を作成するよりもGISの地図を閲覧するための支援が重要であり，そのためにはGISの操作を録画した動画の制作が有効であることが明らかになった．
