Abstract

After reading about the Eclipse plugins and seeing how many of them are listed in the Eclipse Marketplace, you might be curious if it is hard to create an Eclipse plugin. This chapter should give you some insights about this process, so at the end of it, you will have your own opinion about the effort needed to create an extension. What is important to underline is that Eclipse plugins are developed in Java. You can of course call the SAP backend when you use ABAP (we cover that in next chapter), but even then, the UI part will be done in Java.
