Abstract

Benalaxyl, captafol, captan, ethridiazole, alone and mixed with captan, fenaminosulf, furalaxyl, maneb, metalaxyl, and phosethyl-Al were evaluated as soil fungicides against Phytophthora citrophthora (Sm. & Sm.) Leon. and P. nicotianae van Breda de Haan. Fungicides were tested in vitro and in experiments performed under screenhouse. There was no correlation between in vitro activity and performance of fungicides in eradicating inoculum of Phytophthora in soil. Results that could be utilized in developing control stategies of Phytophthora blight, a soilborne disease of ornamental citrus, are emphasized.
