Abstract
The present situation of the nuclear fuel cycle in the Federal Republic of Germany is presented with discussion of the following topics: 1) the natural uranium market; 2) uranium enrichment; 3) fuel element fabrication; 4) reprocessing; and 5) fuel management. The cost analysis provides hope for the future that only moderate price increases will occur for the nuclear fuel cycle, thereby resulting in stable electricity generating costs from the nuclear power plants.
