ITS sequence analysis and phylogenetic study of Cordyceps spp.

Abstract
In this paper, Cordyceps strains were collected from different regions of China and their sequences of internal transcribed spacers (ITS) were obtained and compared. Homology comparison was conducted between the obtained ITS sequences and reference sequences from GenBank database. Seven reference sequences were selected to construct the phylogenetic trees. Results showed that ITS sequences were 570-576bp, with the GC content of 56.29-56.77%. Phylogenetic analysis showed that, except for the strain C-6 similar to Cordyceps kyushuensis, other tested strains showed close relatives of Cordyceps militaris.
