Abstract

In order to assist in the constant need to monitor and improve the quality of its infrastructure, Lithuanian Railways added a new track recording car to its fleet. The self-propelled EM140 track geometry measuring car provides a modular platform to carry a wide range of advanced measuring systems. It will roam the network on a regular basis, building up a database of information about line, level and twist, as well as checking for faults that may require investigation.
