Abstract

Abstract—In this paper we investigate the performance of two \nmulticast routing protocols, implemented in SAM, in its classic and \nDPC (Distibuted Power Control) version. These protocols are AMRIS \n[1] and ODMRP [2] and the performance are obtained with 802.11b \nMAC protocol [7]. The DPC version of these two protocols has \nbeen named AMRIS Power Control and ODMRP Power Control \nrespectively. We investigate the effects of the multicast group size and \nof the number of sources on the performance of the multicast routing \nprotocols, in both the versions. We compute the packet delivery fraction \nand energy spent by the network as merit factors.
