Abstract
Objective To explore the correlation between serum nitricoxide (NO) and P-selectin in the pathogenic process of ulcer-ative colitis (UC). Methods 60 cases with UC were enrolled, 41 in active group and 19 in remission group, and 20 healthy normal were chosen to be control group;the levels of NO, P-selectin, WBC and PLT in fasting blood were detected. Results The levels of serum NO and P-selectin of the cases in active group were much higher than those of the cases in remission group and control group, the difference was of significance (P 0.05);the ex-pressions of NO and P-selectin were positively correlated in active group (r=0.51, P<0.01);the levels of WBC and PLT were much high-er than those in remission group and control group (P<0.01). Conclusions P-selectin and NO may have a synergistic effect in the patho-genic process of UC.
