During this period, China surpassed Germany as the world’s largest exporter, and surpassed Japan to become the world’s second economy, and then to now that the growth of the china’s economy has once again highlighted the power of the country’s influence in the world economy. No matter how enormous the GDP and total trade volume are, trade competitiveness is different on average. In addition, China’s service trade is less than half of the United States, and is at the bottom of the world rankings. According to the data released by the WTO, China’s service industry imports are ranked fifth in the world in 2012, and the service industry exports are ranked third, next to the United States and Germany. Though China has become the largest trading nation across the United States, but this has made the vulnerability of the service trade more evident. This paper explores the Chinese and foreign literatures in the fields of connotation and evaluation system of trade power, trade power status and implementation path of Chinese and so on, in which the trajectories of time and space’s development in trade power theory and measurement index system are outlined. With the emergence of new political and economic conditions in the world, the study of the trade power and its measurement index system needs to be integrated with the new content with the times. There is of great significance to grasp the profound meaning of trade power and the construction of a scientific evaluation system, to a correct understanding of one country’s trade status and development stage and the realization of one’s trade strategy.
