Empirical Study of the Position of China's Service Trade in the World

The total volume of China's service trade has ranked ahead in the world in recent years.So does the international competitiveness of China's service trade? In order to analyze and judge the international competitiveness of China's service trade comprehensively,the essay compares it with China's commodity trade and other countries' service trade in both horizontal and vertical orientation.First,from the development of itself since 2000 to 2010,China's service trade has increased dramatically at a bigger speed than that of the world's average development.But there are always trade deficits in China's service trade.The structure is mainly trades in traditional service industry.All this states that on one hand our demand for the import of service trade has been increased a lot with the development of China's economy.On the other hand,its competitive power is weaker compared with other 5 top countries in the service trade and China should find ways to improve its competitiveness.Second,the essay applies some quantitative analysis by indexes such as Trade Competitive Power Index,Revealed Comparative Advantage,Competitive Advantage Index.From the analysis,the essay finds the results that China's competitiveness of the service trade is in the less comparative position in the world and it's a long way for China to upgrade the competitiveness of the service trade.
