I played a leading role in the design of the data collection for patient exit interviews.I also participated in the training of standardised patients and fieldworkers for exit interviews for data collection in both provinces, as well as assisting with the management of data collection in the Eastern Cape.The data presented in Chapter 4 was obtained in my own education research project in the Eastern Cape.I played a leading role in the design of data collection instruments for school principal and teacher interviews.I also spearheaded the data collection process with the help of two research assistants.
