Urbanized areas are delineated by tbe Census Bweau to provide a better separ.Won of urban and rural Jl<li)Uiation, bousing.and territory in tbe vicinity of large places.A UA eomprises one or more central places aod tbe adjacent densely settled urban fli.oge !.bat together have a minimum population of 50,000.The CCJISUS Bweau bas identified 27 UAs in Flori<la.This study separates Tampa from tbe Tampa-st.Petersburg-Clearwater UA and Sarasota from tbe Sarasota-Bra~eruoa UA for a total of 29 urbanized area.< in Florida.
